Just had dinner with somebody who was working for Fender until very recently. I guess they just cut over 300 people from their payroll. He told me that the company is in bad shape. I asked it if were because of guitar sale being down, or if it were because of bad business decisions, and he said it was primarily the latter.

I have read that they have a huge debt problem due to some acquisitions made over the last several years.

The debt was because it was a leveraged buy out when the investors took over. This happens a lot with speculative buyers - they expect the newly hired ruthless senior management (some classic stories about Larry Thomas' management style) they put in place to pump up sales and generate huge cash flow from operations to cover massive debt that they incurred to buy the business. So they sell lots of guitars to places like Guitar Center (Larry's former haunt), which opens new stores (because same store sales are stagnant) and start pushing Squire Strats and other cheap stuff to increase the top line, but the bottom line suffers because huge volumes are needed to generate profit. Of course, places like Guitar Center mishandles potential sales of high end instruments because of untrained staff and image problems (who wants to buy a high-end guitar in a place where the guitars have been pawed by shredders and the store can't even find the cases that go with the guitars?) And Fender mishandles the production and craftsmen who make the high-end custom shop guitars where there is more profit to be made. No one wins.

S tym seriovym cislom skor 75. Ale inak to vyzera ze je - len to tiez moze byt aj prefrezovany Deluxe.  Viac fotiek by bolo treba.

uz len ten prepinacik je cena dole, cize ak by to bol prefrezovanec, tak dalsich par kil dole, cize za mna super gita . len aj so zhorsenym dalsim predajom...

Hej, od prelomu 73/74.

Je to s najvacsou pravdepodobnostou 75, cize uz to moze mat aj javorovy krk, hoci este ine specifikacie ako Kalamazoo pre 75 produkcia. Preto treba viac fotiek a najma aj frezovania spod snimacov, elektroniku atd.

Treba otravovat predavajuceho, lebo ak to je prefrezovany Deluxac, navyse s miniswitchom, tak to nepredas ani za 1500 EUR, aj ked je inak tiptop.

Inak kukol som to poriadne zvacsene a pozor pozor.  

Mostik nie je povodny ABR, ale nieco ala Nashville, je to pokial sa nemylim lacny azijsky typ so sirsimi srobmi (davaju sa na Epiphone), cize sa tam zrejme aj vrtalo do topu.

Dalej kryty snimacov su nejako podozrivo nablyskane, cize mozno ani snimace nie su povodne. Takze pokial to nestoji 1200-1300 EUR, tak to neries.
