No na tom mojom markovom preampe je maximalne skreslenie uz docela velky rachot, oproti skresleniam, ktorym holdujes ty . A nemuselo tobyt len tou lampou. Pamatam, ze som mal vtedy aj v koncaku uz dost zodrete lampy, takze mozno jedno s druhym...

ECC85 veru neviem, ale urcite mozes dat namiesto ECC83 - ECC82 a ECC81. Hiwatty su priamo od vyroby s ECC81 v invertore, takze preto som ju tam nechal.

ECC85 je tusim dost podobna ECC81 - 83, ale ma inak zapojene vyvody, cize by bolo nutne inak zapojit paticu.

Par zaujimavych postrehov o starych Tesla lampach a porovnani s novymi posielam z vintage amps fora:

Tested so far were:

1. NOS Tesla- ECC803s
2. JJ-ECC803s
3. Sovtek- LPS
4. JJ-ECC83s
5. Tung-Sol- russian version

The results: The Tesla longplate sounded the best. Fat tone with crisp highs. None of the new production tubes had the tone of the Tesla.

The 2nd best was the JJ-ECC803s. Very nice but not quite to the Tesla level. The Sovtek was very good as well.

The standard JJ-ECC83s was good but nothing special.

The Tung-Sol sounds excellent in Marshalls but not in the Matchless. Very nice in my older Marshalls though.

The Tesla ECC83, E83CC, and the ECC803s are very underrated tubes IMHO.



That\'s interesting, thanks for posting that. I\'m a big fan of the Tesla Roznov E83CC, and now I\'ve discovered the Roznov made ECC803S long plate, as well. The 803 is definitely a premium ECC83 and is right up there with some of the best long plates I\'ve ever heard. And hardly any of them get microphonic.....even though it\'s a long plate. I\'ve tried both 60\'s and 80\'s versions, and they sound the same to me. These can still be found at reasonable prices, so it\'s a good tube to stock up on while they\'re still cheap. It\'s now on my \'getter\' list.



NTM, I agree that the Brimar CV4004 is an underated tube. Some amps don\'t like them, but others really do. I hear they also sound great in JTM45\'s. I haven\'t gotten around to trying one in my 45 yet.

From the mid 70\'s to the very end of the 80\'s, the Tesla EL34 was really good and all sound about the same to my ears from this time period. It\'s not quite as good as a Mullard, but very comparable. From about 1990 to 94, they were OK, too, but the quality was slipping a bit. Other Roznov era Tesla\'s were pretty good (except for a few) all the way up to around 94 when they were sold.

Now the 1960\'s to early 70\'s Tesla EL34\'s are holy grail......right there with Holland Amperex and Mullards from the 60\'s as the very best ever made, IMHO. And the Tesla seems to be the most durable of the three. I really can\'t tell the difference between an xf2 Mullard and a Tesla from this period. Some even like the Tesla more. I don\'t remember seeing actual black base Tesla\'s......there are some that have very dark brown bases that almost look black. Maybe there were some black bases and I\'m having a brain cramp. Oh well.  

Here\'s a pic of a Tesla EL34 from September 1966. In the 60\'s Tesla era, the boxes were red and black, and you rarely see these boxes around. The boxes have white military stickers on them, and they came from the Czech army. This tube has the speckled brown type base, and you can see the Roznov cross swords marked on the glass. Notice how there\'s not as much flashing on these compared to some of the early 70\'s tubes where they were often huge!! I\'m thinking about having a major EL34 sale for PP members later this summer which would include Tesla and RFT.

V com sa lisia ECC803 od 83? Co je to long plate?

Tesla ECC803S je ina konstrukcia, vacsie anody, menej mikrofonicka atd. Kvazi nadstandard. E83CC ma male, si porovnaj na tych fotkach Telefunken s Tesla E83CC.

OK znalci - pome radit . Ake ECCcky ? Poziadavka je hutne basy, vela priezracnych vysok, malo stredov, vela skreslenia... (malo penazi ).

Ja by som opáčil Electroharmonix,Fender-Sovtek,alebo Groove Tubes.Kedysi ich mávali v Expose-dnešný Marris.
